Srbija Voz (Србија Воз) is the state railway company in Serbia and operates the majority of passenger traffic in the country.

Railway companies typically offer a discount with FIP, also known as FIP50 or FIP75. The discount is usually 50 %, sometimes 75 %. To find out what discount applies to you, first select the issuer of your FIP Card. You can find an overview of all discounts in the FIP Application.

FIP Coupons and FIP 50 Tickets are valid on SV services. For cross-border travel, either a through FIP discounted ticket or FIP Coupons of both countries must be available.

Train Categories and Reservations

Inter City (COKO)

Under the names COKO and SOKO (“falcon” in Serbian), SV operates high-speed services between Belgrade and Subotica. Modern Stadler Rail KISS multiple units are used, and since April 2026 also new Tiger trains from the Chinese manufacturer CRRC.1

Brzi Voz
FIP accepted Reservation required

The train category “Brzi Voz” corresponds to classic express trains; at SV they operate exclusively towards Montenegro. All year round, one locomotive-hauled train pair runs as a classic night train with sleeper, couchette and seated cars between Belgrade and Bar.

In the summer season, this train pair is supplemented during the day by another train pair.

In SV’s journey planner, these trains are sometimes shown as Inter Regio Voz (IR).

Reservations

Reservations are mandatory. The cost is €3 per seat in both first and second class.2

The costs for couchette and sleeper reservations (click on a journey and then on “Beds”) vary depending on the coach category. For couchette or sleeper reservations, an additional 10% service fee applies.3

Express trains stopping at the most important stations. Some trains are operated with second-class coaches only.

Trains of the Regio Expres (REx) category, like those of the IR category, only serve the most important towns.

Trains of the Regio Voz (Re) category connect smaller places with the metropolitan areas. These trains stop at many stations and generally use older rolling stock. Some trains are operated with second-class coaches only.

BG:VOZ

As BG:VOZ, SV operates two lines in the Belgrade metropolitan area similar to an S-Bahn.

Bus
FIP not accepted

FIP Tickets are not valid on bus lines operated by SV, unless they are rail replacement services.4

Currently, however, a shuttle bus between Novi Sad and Petrovaradin can be used free of charge, see Traffic between Novi Sad and Petrovaradin.

Reservations

Booking requests for international trains between Serbia and Montenegro can be made by telephone on +381113602899 up to 30 days in advance. The reservations must be collected at the station in Serbia (Belgrade, Subotica) within 24 hours. The reservation hotline is available between 9:00 and 17:00.1

Discounts

In domestic traffic as well as long-distance traffic to Montenegro, children up to and including six years travel free of charge, provided they do not require their own seat and are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket. Children between six and 14 years as well as younger children for whom their own seat is required receive a 50% discount on the regular adult fare.5

Special Tariff Conditions

Traffic between Novi Sad and Petrovaradin

Rail passengers to/from Subotica, Beograd Centar, Šid, Sremska Mitrovica and Užice can currently use a free shuttle bus between Petrovaradin and Novi Sad. Regular local transport is also currently free on this route.6 The reason for this is that Novi Sad station has not been served since November 2024 due to an accident.7

Rail Replacement Services

FIP Tickets are not valid on bus lines operated by SV, unless they are rail replacement services.4
